Charity: Tearfund

An exploration of the work of Tearfund

Tearfund homeChristians believe that they should help the poor and needy in the world. This is what the Bible states and was one of Jesus' key messages during his three years of ministry.

One example is from Mark 10:21:

'Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said, “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.'" Mark 10:21.

There are many ways in which Christians respond to the poor. They will pray for them, and they will often try to help in any way that they can. Giving money to charity, sometimes volunteering at local or international charities. Many Christians give money to Tearfund to enable them to help the poor.
