The Pentecostal Church

Beliefs and Practises

The Pentecostal movement grew out of the Holiness Revival of the second half of the nineteenth century. This revival arose out of a desire to see a significant change in the social and spiritual health of the nation.

Many of those involved in the Holiness Revival had previously been in traditional churches but came out of these to form new religious communities committed to seeking perfection in Christ. The emphasis for these forerunners of the Pentecost movement was the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and the spiritual gifts promised to the New Testament church, such as speaking in tongues, healing, and prophecy.

In these films, the minister of a Pentecost Church discusses the church's beliefs today.
