Infant Baptism in an Anglican Church

What happens during an infant baptism?

What is infant baptism?

Why is water poured over the baby’s head?

What promises do the parents make?

When a baby is born some Christian families decide to take them to be baptised. During the baptism the parents and the god parents will make promises to God that they will help to bring the child up as a Christian. Another important part of the service is when the baby has water tipped over their head and the sign of the cross is made on their forehead. These are all symbols that the baby belongs to the world wide Christian family.
