World War 1 – Teaching Resource

Use this material to explore some of the main questions surrounding WW1!

How and why did World War start? Who are the unsung heroes of the war? What was the true cost of the war? Who made the biggest sacrifice? What does it mean to really remember? This material encourages you to tackle these and other big questions around the war.

These resources combine history, RE, ethics and citizenship to make  interesting and challenging lesson ideas that can be used with whole classes or small groups. The material within each section can be used in one lesson or taken over several sessions for a more in depth view of the issues.
