What is an evangelist?

Download Content

The English word “evangelism” comes from the Greek word euaggelion. As a noun the word literally translated means: “gospel” or “good news.” In the verb form (euaggelizesthai), the meaning of the word changes to mean “announce” or “bring good news.” The Greek word appears fifty-five times in the New Testament – in some versions of the Bible the word is translated as ‘preach.’

In this short film Chip Kendall talks about what it has meant for him and his family to be evangelists.
