Prophetic Art

Can God speak to people through art?

Julia Powell paints. She believes that the inspiration for her work comes from God and in particular His desire to demonstrate His love for all people. This is why she calls it 'prophetic art'; it is painted as she feels inspired by the Holy Spirit, and contains a 'message' from God for His people, much like the prophets of the Old Testament, only through a different medium.

Julia claims that her art comes out of her faith, saying:

“I wouldn’t say my art is realist. I also wouldn’t say that I’m an abstract artist. In fact, I would say I’m not an ‘Artist’.

I’m a worshipper. I worship in Spirit and Truth and acrylics.”

In these two films, Julia discusses prophetic art and the way she believes her paintings have helped people to hear from God and be healed.
