The Lord’s Supper

How do Christians remember Jesus' death on the cross?

How do you remember things?

Do you have special things that you remember every year – perhaps you remember birthdays or Christmas?

For Christians one of the most important things to remember is how Jesus died on the cross to show how much God loved the world. The way that Christians remember this is through a special meal that they call communion or mass. During this meal they will eat bread which is a symbol of Jesus’ body and they will drink wine as a symbol of his blood that was shed on the cross.

Watch these films to see how this special meal is celebrated in an Anglican church and a Catholic church.
