The 39 Articles of Religion

What do they teach about the resurrection of Christ?

Produced in 1562, nearly thirty years after the Church of England (also known as the Anglican Church) was born, the 39 Articles of Religion set out some key beliefs in a series of statements.

The articles contain beliefs that the Church has about, including:

  • The Trinity
  • Salvation
  • The Bible
  • Original sin
  • The resurrection.

Article 4 details the Church's belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

"CHRIST did truly rise again from death, and took again his body, with flesh, bones, and all things appertaining to the perfection of Man's nature; wherewith he ascended into Heaven, and there sitteth, until he return to judge all Men at the last day."
