Saint Hilda

Hilda was born in 614 AD. She is famous for being the Abbess of Whitby Abbey in 657 AD. It was an abbey that welcomed nuns and monks, and was considered to be a place of great learning at the time. She is known as a great figure in Christian history as she played a key role in helping to firmly establish Christianity in England.
