UNDER_GROUND: JOSHUi

Hear JOSHUi's testimony and music

Jon from Youth for Christ's UNDER_GROUND sat down to chat with Christian rapper JOSHUi after he'd granted us the pleasure of recording one of his raps, '6 Feet Deep'!

JOSHUi grew up in Manchester, with Christian parents who took him to church every Sunday.  He went to a Christian primary school, so was surrounded by people of faith very early on in his life. He became a Christian while in primary school. He walked away from his relationship with God later on.

After he felt called to move to London, he says he went on a journey where he questioned why he was there doing what he was doing. This led him back to God, who gives him meaning in life.

Watch the interview to hear all about JOSHUi's faith journey, then check out the track '6 Feet Deep' he recorded especially for UNDER_GROUND. Once you've watched both, answer the following questions:

  • What does '6 Feet Deep' symbolise?
  • Why did he change his name from Joshua to JOSHUi? What does his new name mean to him?
  • How did he become a Christian?
