Prejudice

Hear one Christian's view on prejudice...

Prejudice is defined as 'an unfair and unreasonable opinion or feeling, especially when formed without enough thought or knowledge.'

There are many forms of prejudice in society. People can be prejudiced against others because of:

  • Age
  • Gender
  • Race
  • Religion
  • Sexuality
  • Disability

But what is the Christian response to prejudice?

Christians are against prejudice in any form. The Bible states:

“Do not mistreat a foreigner; you know how it feels to be a foreigner because you were foreigners in Egypt." Exodus 23:9

Jesus said: "Do for others just what you want them to do for you." Luke 6:31

Luke 6:31. Paul wrote to the Galatians: ' So there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles, between slaves and free people, between men and women; you are all one in union with Christ Jesus.' Galatians 3:28.

This film explores what is at the heart of prejudice, alongside a reflection on the biblical teaching on the issue.
