How are we to treat others? Jesus teaches about loving others
Parables are stories told to help to teach us something. One day a man asked Jesus what he must do to make sure he pleased God. Jesus in return asked the man what he thought was the right thing to do. The man remembered what was said in the Jewish law and answered:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and all your mind. Also love your neighbour as you love yourself.
Jesus told the man that he was right but the man was still confused and asked
But who is my neighbour?
Jesus told the man the Parable of the Good Samaritan to help him understand.
