Christian Responses to Non-religious Views of Religious Upbringing

Non-religious Attitudes to Religious Upbringing
Some people, such as atheists and humanists, believe that a religious upbringing is wrong. They believe that children should be given the chance to choose their own faith. It's not fair to make children follow a certain faith.
They also feel that rather than encouraging a belief in God, a religious upbringing may actually result in children rejecting the faith. Some might rebel against it and the restrictions it imposes on them and their lifestyle.
Additionally, they may argue that religion has very little relevance today; children are much more likely to have faith in science than religion.
Christian Responses
Christians believe that their faith has so much to offer people, not just those who have been raised in a Christian family. Even people from non-religious families have been known to turn to the Christian faith, as they seek a purpose or want to have hope in their life. They believe that giving a child a religious upbringing is the right thing to do.
Like all parents, Christians love their children and want the best for them. They believe that following the Christian faith is the best way for them to live their life. Plus, they want their children to go to heaven, which is only possible through faith in Jesus Christ.
Christians believe that Jesus died to offer all people of the world salvation, a place with God in heaven. Therefore, they feel everyone should be given the chance to hear about and explore the Christian faith. Especially their children.
